Does Booker Live In Newark?

Posted: Updated:
Newark, New Jersey (My9NJ) -

Charles Johnson, a writer for an online news gathering site called the “Daily Caller”, has written an article claiming that Cory Booker does not actually live in Newark. Johnson became interested in Booker’s residence after articles over the past six months have questioned his truthfulness in regards to knowing certain people and events that he claims have happened.

“I was very curious about these stories because Cory Booker is often discussed as a potentially presidential figure, and I wanted to actually find out for myself.” He said.

Johnson went to Newark to talk to some people and found Tashay Thomas, a woman who claims to be one of Booker’s nextdoor neighbors. Thomas claims that Booker doesn’t live where he says he lives. When asked if he lived there, her response was, “Never did.” She claims that his security guard lives there instead. Booker is also rumored to be living in New York.

However, another investigation led to some different information. Booker has said that he’s lived on Hawthorne Street for years, and when asked, his neighbors claim to see him often. This contradiction makes people wonder if Johnson doesn’t have some sort of political agenda, but he claims that is not the case.

“There’s no politic agenda. I just really want to know what’s going on there. And ya know I did interview that Tashay woman who claimed to be a neighbor and James Sharp. Now it’s possible they gave a fake name.” He said.

During Hurricane Sandy, Booker invited the city to his house where he had a generator and allowed them to charge their devices. Some of those who went tweeted about it, and Alice B tweeted a picture of Booker entertaining her granddaughter.

You would think that is solid proof that he lives in Newark, but Johnson doesn’t believe so. “That photograph is from the bottom apartment which as you know is vacant.” He said.

Even though most of his proof points to Newark not being Booker’s home, Johnson still says he’s not sure where Booker lives. “I don’t know if he lives there or not. You know, I’m just going by the word of people who I’ve talked to who claim to be his neighbors.” He said.
