Christie’s Weighty Issue - My9 New Jersey

Christie’s Weighty Issue

Posted: Updated:
Trenton, New Jersey (My9NJ) -

Some may refer to the last gubernatorial debate between Governor Chris Christie and Senator Barbara Buono as a battle of the bulge so to speak. Both candidates had agreed to release personal health records before the final debate and while Buono’s doctor said that she is in excellent health, Christie is yet to release any of his health information.

Buono is a mother of six who claims that health is extremely important to her and she even runs about 6 miles a day. The only thing that was of concern in her medical records was high cholesterol. She said that she does not take medicine for it and that instead she tries to treat it in other ways like exercise.

Many feel that the governor’s resistance to release his health records is a little suspicious. His weight has always been a concern, even after his lap band surgery and in 2009 he suffered a serious asthma attack that resulted in a hospital visit.

In the past, Christie has defended his health by saying that he’s been through many tough situations throughout his term and that his health isn’t an issue. Is it just convenient that this is coming out right before Election Day?

It was clear at the debate and recent appearances that the governor has in fact lost weight, although he is not commenting on exactly how much.

The town of Hoboken, New Jersey is cracking down on Uber cars driving in and picking up passengers in the city. Uber is an app that you can use to request a car service to pick you up, but city officials say they are not licensed to operate in town. Marcus Enriquez was actually thrown out of an Uber car by a Hoboken police officer. He said he was on his way to work outside of the Hoboken taxi stand when a cop knocked on the window, kicked him out of the car and ticketed the Uber driver.
