Seeing Purple In Denville - My9 New Jersey

Seeing Purple In Denville

Posted: Updated:
Denville, New Jersey (My9NJ) -

There’s a purple house in Denville, that has been causing quite a stir.

John Pinto has painted his uninhabitable home bright purple and pink. He says he painted it purple for Lupus awareness and painted huge pink ribbons for breast cancer awareness.

Sam Joseph from HGTV’s Bought and Sold came to take a look at the purple house. “I love the color purple. It was one of my favorite movies. But it shouldn’t be on a house,” Joseph said.

Joseph also said that the purple house damages the property value of the other homes on this entire street. “The next door neighbors should really plant some large shrubs,” he said.

Originally there was a scandal connected with the house. Pinto wanted to rezone his property into commercial real estate due to the extremely busy street it resides on, but the town wouldn’t let him.

Is the extravagant color combination just his way of getting back at the town?
