CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey police department is investigating how it failed to notify a family of a relative's death for more than a month.

Authorities say 45-year-old Gerald O'Bryant was found dead of a drug overdose in Camden on Oct. 11 and identified by authorities the same day.

Though his family was searching abandoned houses and alleyways and distributing fliers, they were not notified of his death until Sunday.

Niece Nyzia Easterling tells The Courier-Post of Cherry Hill  he was "lost in the system."

She says authorities did not find them because his name was misspelled in a medical examiner's office.

Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson says his department is looking for answers about the delay.

For decades, making some quick cash was the main drive behind so many who took the ride down the parkway to Atlantic City. But with so much to choose from nowadays, it looks like Atlantic City is in a lot of trouble.
