Christie On Bridgegate & Dream Act - My9 New Jersey

Christie On Bridgegate & Dream Act

Posted: Updated:
Trenton, New Jersey (My9NJ) - Last week the governor held a press conference to announce some upcoming changes to his administration, but the real issue on everyone’s mind that day was bridgegate. Specifically who is footing the legal bills for the two Christie Port Authority appointees that resigned after the whole debacle?

Both men, Former Deputy Executive Director Bill Baroni and Ex-Manager David Wildstein, now have criminal defense attorneys and Christie wasn’t giving up much information regarding that situation either.

“I will have to refer you to Port Authority. That is an internal personnel matter, I don’t know what their internal rules are and all the rest that go along with that, so ask them, they know, I don’t,” he said.

At this time both men have not been accused of any wrongdoing or illegal activity.

Another topic that is hitting Christie’s desk is the Dream Act and all indications show that he is going to sign the bill.

Senate President Steve Sweeney made an announcement saying that Governor Christie is set to sign the Dream Act which qualifies all residents of New Jersey, including undocumented residents, for instate tuition rates at local colleges and universities.

“We’re now gonna give them an opportunity and an affordable way to be able to continue their education. And if they do that is going to be to the benefit first and foremost of themselves, secondly to their families, and third to the family of New Jersey,” Christie said.

A sweetener cheaper than sugar but just as sweet is now in many food and drink products at the grocery store.  It's called high fructose corn syrup.  Some nutritionists, like dietician Dawn Sharp, claim it’s pretty bad for you.

The town of Elmwood Park relies on about 75 to 100 volunteer firefighters for emergencies.  Russell Fenn, IV is one of those volunteer firefighters. He was driving the department’s only ladder truck and crashed it into utility poles.  Police charged Fenn with driving under the influence and said that his blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit.
