Wild Wild West New York - My9 New Jersey

Wild Wild West New York

Posted: Updated:
West New York, New Jersey (My9NJ) - A meeting with elected officials in West New York got a little out of hand earlier this week with name calling, cursing and allegations being thrown around.

Commissioner Count Wiley even confronted Mayor Felix Rogue saying, “Let’s talk about what you and your dirty, dirty, you’re really taking it to the level of scum on the earth. I lost all respect for you in that matter. You need to understand that. That’s why I don’t talk to you. We don’t talk. Every word out of your mouth is a lie and you deceive people,” he said.

Members of the community are also outrages and many chimed in to call the mayor corrupt.

Apparently, the FBI conducted an investigation at the West New York Town Hall which the mayor was not aware of and while the police director did speak with members of the FBI he is not at liberty to discuss what the investigation is regarding.

Currently, people jailed in Bergen County for missing child support or alimony payments can be released in order to get access to employment that would help them try and pay their bills. However, a new lawsuit has been filed because Bergen County actually charges these individuals $10 dollars a day either for work release fees or for wearing an ankle monitoring bracelet.

Senator Richard Codey has recently been very outspoken calling for the resignation of Rutgers University Athletic Director Julie Hermann. He said that Hermann is surrounded by controversy and adding to the negative headlines that Rutgers has had over this past year. Codey believes that this partly stems from her past position as a volleyball coach in Tennessee where she allegedly directed offensive name-calling towards her student athletes.
