New Zealand Safety Ad Shocks Viewers

Posted: Updated:

A new ad out of New Zealand will make you think twice before letting your lead foot take over. We just want to warn you, it is a bit shocking and may be too intense for your children to watch.

The ad is sponsored by the New Zealand transport agency to get people to slow down.

It occurs the few moments before a T-bone crash. Right before the car plows into the other car's side, the two drivers get out and have a conversation.

"I'm sorry; I thought there was time," said the driver who's car is about to get slammed into. He has a son in the back, and he pleads the fact with the other driver.

"Please, I have my boy in the back,"

"You're going too fast," the other driver replied. "I'm sorry."

Then the two get back into their cars, with the driver who's about to get hit realizing what's about to happen. He looks back at his son, and then the other car slams into his side.

If you noticed, the driver that hit him was going more than one-hundred kilometers an hour before the crash; that's about 70- miles per hour.

The transport agency says that their message is that no one should pay for a mistake with their life. The speed we choose to travel needs to leave room for any potential error, even in other people, such as we saw in this scenario when someone pulls out in front of you.
