Thousands Of Bridgegate Documents Released

Posted: Updated:
Trenton, New Jersey (My9NJ) - Late last week more documentation regarding bridgegate was released which shows thousands of pages of paperwork relating to the whole bridgegate scandal. Among them is a six-page traffic study draft, which brings up more questions about whether or not the original excuse for the closures did in fact hold true.

NJ.com Senior Political Reporter Darryl Isherwood conducted a poll asking their readers whether or not Christie should resign from office if he did in fact know about the lane closures.

“It was fairly overwhelming that people were saying yes. I mean, obviously those polls aren’t scientific, but I’m looking at the most current numbers and its 76% to 23% say yes he should resign if he knew,” he said.

While many people feel he should step-down if he was aware of the closures, this whole debacle hasn’t really hurt the governor in terms of his popularity with the New Jersey people. “His approval rating is still at 55% of a favorable opinion of Christie,” Isherwood confirmed.

Could this whole bridgegate situation end up being an example of “what doesn’t kill you, only makes you stronger” for Governor Christie?

Some New Jersey residents who work in New York City call jitney buses their "dirty little secret". However, this work-around the New Jersey Transit system is causing some controversy in the Big Apple and now the New York City Police Department is cracking down on this alternate form of transportation. Riders say that jitney buses are very efficient, faster than other buses and the train, and most importantly are cost efficient.

For many, the conflict between Israel and Palestine hits close to home. Yesterday a rally took place outside of the United Nations building in New York City and people from both sides were on hand to voice their concerns about the ongoing airstrikes. New Jersey’s Rabbi Gross discussed the fact that many of his former students, after graduation, decided to join the Israeli Defense Force and are now immersed in the fighting.
