Central Jersey's Ultimate Tailgate Party - My9 New Jersey

Central Jersey's Ultimate Tailgate Party

Posted: Updated:
Basking Ridge, NJ (My9NJ) - With the Super Bowl only days away, New Jerseyans are spending their time prepping for the big game by none other than throwing the best tailgating parties possible. Earlier in the week, the Dolce Hotel located in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, played host to one of the largest tailgate parties so far in the state. Hundreds of people were in attendance with tailgate food, alcohol, music, and even cigars being top points of interests throughout the night.

Top Tailgate food at the event included wings, sushi, and an assortment of delectable wine and cheeses. Former Giants football players Bill Ard and Bart Oates were in attendance as the official judges during the event. Oates talked about what made him the perfect judge for the massive taste testing event.

"When I was 290 pounds yes I was more qualified," Oates said.

The huge tailgate party was hosted by the Heartworks Foundation. Heartworks was founded by a woman named Meagan who started the foundation after her brother passed away during the September 11th World Trade Center attacks. Her brother, who was a former high school football player, wore the number 34 during his football career. Members of the foundation wore pinned jerseys at the event, with the number 34 on the back signifying his memory and raising awareness of what Heartworks does on a daily basis.

Whether or not you believe that a tailgate party should belong indoors or outside with beer and a grill, no one can deny the benefits of having such massive gatherings only days before the big game.
