Did Christie Know About The Lane Closures?

Posted: Updated:
Trenton, New Jersey (My9NJ) - Just when you thought the scandals plaguing Christie's administration were behind him, a newly released letter puts Christie back in the hot seat about his awareness of the multiple lane closures on the GWB back in September. Initially the letter was intended to demand payment by the Port Authority on behalf of former official David Wildstein, but a new accusation within this document is slowly becoming the foundation to dismiss Christie's credibility surrounding Bridgegate.

In the letter released by David Wildstein's attorney, he claims there is credible evidence proving that Chris Christie did have knowledge about the lane closures at the time they were happening. In previous interviews, Christie has repeatedly denied this claim. In the letter, Wildstein's attorney claims that essentially his client was following direction by the Governor and that Christie’s denial of the claims misrepresents, and essentially lies, about David Wildstein’s involvement in Bridgegate.

Attorney and Editor of SaveJersey.com, Mike Rooney, discussed the potential fallout of what might happen with the release of this letter.

"Whenever someone makes an allegation and they send me the paperwork, I always turn and look at the exhibits. There aren’t any attachments, which could mean a number of things. It could mean that there is hard evidence, or circumstantial evidence which is more "loosey goosey" and that’s something you could really tie the governor too. Or it can be a bargaining chip," Rooney said.

Proving that Christie knew about the lane closures and also knew why they were closed seems to be the uphill battle in this situation. Whether he had prior knowledge or not, Wildstein’s attorney is pulling out all the stops to prove his client’s innocence within this heated political scandal.

StubHub, which is a website that provides services for buyers and sellers for tickets to sporting events, concerts, and other live entertainment events, has been hacked. StubHub is getting a lot of bad press, but the site is really the victim here. The hackers have hacked accounts from other sites, and then used that information to get into the StubHub accounts.
