STRATFORD, Conn. (AP) - Stratford police say a 74-year-old man has been charged with sexually assaulting a teenage boy at a funeral home during a wake.

The Connecticut Post reports that Robert J. Purcell of Fairfield was charged Tuesday with second-degree sexual assault, fourth-degree sexual assault and public indecency. He was released on $100,000 bond.

Police say the 15-year-old boy, who has autism, had been attending his grandmother's wake at Pistey Funeral Home on April 9, 2012 and the alleged assault occurred in the bathroom.

Purcell was arraigned in Superior Court on charges of sexually assaulting the same boy in Purcell's home. He pleaded not guilty to first-degree sexual assault and impairing the morals of a minor.

Purcell's attorney, Michael Dolan, says his client denies the allegations and they plan a vigorous defense.
