Those annoying things local TV news does (yes, that's us)

MYFOXNY.COM -

"Time: we never have enough" -- a "shocking" revelation. Thanks, local news. "If you think it isn't ___ think again." time is valuable. Who has time to waste? Maybe you do if you're watching this right now.

For the first time ever in this exclusive local news story we ask the tough question: does news ever annoy you?

We put CUNY journalism professor Jeff Jarvis on "the hot seat" to give this story at least an ounce of legitimacy. He said that doing a story about local news is a little navel gazing. "But shows you're willing to ask the tough questions about what's annoying about TV news," he said. Like sticking rulers in the snow.

Please no more gimmicks. Thanks for that cliché, reporter man. And stop, reporter woman.

At times, in news, we come across this "chilling" reality, with reporters stretching the truth. Holy smokes: a canoe in just a few inches of water.

Don't know about you, but I've never wanted to "knee" anchors as badly as during these recent "blasts of arctic" cold.

And what's a polar vortex without a little snow?

Ever feel numb after news abuses made-up terms, like "carmageddon."

And, so are death and destruction.

"If you're at mall what do if maniac at mall with gun?"

Run!

But do not run from news altogether. Some news outlets, like ours, are still keeping it real.

Unfortunately, that's all we have time for. For the very latest online, find it right there.

While the rest of us merely march to the beat of our own drum, Savion Glover is the drum. The tap dance superstar has dazzled audiences from the small screen to the big screen from the White House to the Great White Way. More than just a legend, Savion has become a curator of tap. He is on a mission to keep the craft sacred for future generations.
