Snow Rage In New Jersey

Posted: Updated:
Princeton, New Jersey (My9NJ) - The constant snow, ice and cold weather that the Garden State has seen so far this winter has some people in New Jersey extremely frustrated. In fact, some people have even coined the phrase snow rage to describe exactly what they are feeling.

Psychoanalyst Wendy Wright discussed whether or not snow rage is actually a real thing and what people can do to ease their winter woes.

“It’s not a diagnosis in the DSM right now, but it is real, it is real just like road rage is real,” Wright explained.

She went on to explain exactly what it is about the white fluffy stuff that has so many people feeling so frustrated and angry.

“The first main feeling is they feel out of control. They can’t control the weather, they feel trapped. They feel not free. They feel like it’s giving them more work,” Wright said.

So how can we combat this feeling of snow rage?

“Appreciate the moment and the beauty, I think children know how to do that,” Wright suggested. She also said that during these cold times it’s important to do some mindful meditation and focus on gratitude for being alive as ways to combat this stressful time of year.

Fair Lawn, New Jersey Mayor John Cosgrove says that the town’s water tower is in desperate need of repairs, but it seems that a bird’s nest is the reason why construction hasn’t began yet. “It’s a $1.5 million project. We’re going to paint the tower, it hasn’t been painted in 18 years, so we were ready and thought we could get it done in the spring and be ready for summer and now we have to wait between four and six weeks because we have to wait until the hatchlings fly,” he explained.
