Spring Has Sprung - My9 New Jersey

Spring Has Sprung

Posted: Updated:
Hamilton, New Jersey (MY9NJ) - We finally made it New Jersey! After months of feeling like our state relocated itself to an Artic tundra, spring has finally arrived. With residents bracing for only a few more weeks of chilly weather, many New Jerseyans are gearing up to come out of their homes and finally start partaking in some spring-time activities.

Susan Marazzo of Hamilton said it best to embrace the better weather by talking about what the spirit of spring-time is all about.

"It’s about getting outdoors again. Feeling the nice breeze, warm weather, get rid of that ugly snow and ice ,and you know, get out and live again. Being cooped up in the house, its cabin fever. You want to go out and have fun," Marazzo said.

Going outside isn't the only thing people are looking forward to now that the climate is starting to change. At the Dragonfly Garden Center in Hamilton, local residents like Pam Bencivengo are already putting out their plants to grow in time for summer.

"I have to buy pansies. I have to have them on my porch today. It’s the first day of spring," Bencivengo said.

Whether or not you believe that its truly going to get warmer in the next week or not, no one can deny that spring fever has hit the Garden State. Hard.

Some residents of West New York, New Jersey are happy with their beautiful views of Manhattan, but aren’t too happy about the noise that is coming over from the city. Residents who live at the Hudson Club apartment complex at Port Imperial say that the music that reportedly comes from a new concert hall at Pier 97 across the Hudson River in New York City is affecting their quality of life.
