$5 Million Bail Set For McCaw Murder Suspect - My9 New Jersey

$5 Million Bail Set For McCaw Murder Suspect

Posted: Updated:
New Brunswick, New Jersey (My9NJ) - Timothy Puskas, the suspect charged in the murder of former Rutgers student Billy McCaw was arraigned in Middlesex County court yesterday where he pleaded ‘not guilty’.

Bail was set for $5 million and prosecutors said that this man was a danger to society and needs to stay put in prison.

“He’s a danger to the community so the state believes that the bail as set is appropriate,” Middlesex County Assistant Prosecutor Sheree Pitchford announced in court.

Puskas has a long criminal history which includes charges of aggravated assault just this month resulting in him already being jail. He’s also set to go to court in June for aggravated manslaughter due to a hit-and-run incident back in 2012.

Friends and family of Billy McCaw have expressed their relief that the person responsible for his death has been found and they are now able to move forward with some closure.

When members of the Puskas family were reached for comment they expressed their desire for privacy at this time because it is an extremely touchy situation for them.

A trial date has not yet been set.

For many, the conflict between Israel and Palestine hits close to home. Yesterday a rally took place outside of the United Nations building in New York City and people from both sides were on hand to voice their concerns about the ongoing airstrikes. New Jersey’s Rabbi Gross discussed the fact that many of his former students, after graduation, decided to join the Israeli Defense Force and are now immersed in the fighting.

This vehicle is actually used by the military in Iraq and Afghanistan. According to the military this isn't unheard of. Recently, the US government has given these vehicles away to law enforcement departments all over the country.
