Phila Taxi Cab Driver Robbed At Gunpoint

A taxi driver's quick thinking may have saved his life. Police say a man tried to rob the driver at gunpoint.

It happened last Thursday at 6:30am on the 4200 block of Westminster Street. When he arrived at his destination the suspect exited the taxi and pulled a handgun demanding money from the driver.

The driver was able to drive away from the suspect before any money was taken. Surveillance video of the suspect was recovered in the area of 40th and Chestnut Streets prior to the robbery.
