Man's Nativity Scene And Petting Zoo Animals Seized By Animal Control
George Whirley's nativity scene was seized in mid-march by animal control who claims the animals shouldn't be kept in an urban area.
Authorities seized his camel, baby goats and peacock along with several other animals Whirley was keeping on his property. "We were called in March because two of the donkeys seemed to be in rough condition. When we went to court the judge also mentioned none of these animals should be living on the east side of Indianapolis and she ordered them back to us," said Dawn Contos of animal care and control.
Whirley is devastated by the loss and shows off the careful care he put into his animals, claiming they were well taken care of.
"I don't know how we recover from this, but our plan is to fight this and recover from it // those that pray, pray for me because this ministry's very important," said Whirley.
Authorities maintain that, despite Whirley's claims, the animals he kept are not fit to live in a city.
