A woman in California is getting a lot of attention for continuing to work out while pregnant.

Personal trainer Sara Haley is 35 weeks pregnant and still lifting weights and doing pushups. Some gym members just stare and whisper to one another. Others make rude noises, according to Haley.

"There is a lot of rude comments made and sometimes it’s like going back to high school, where people gang up and make nasty comments,” she told NY Daily News.

Haley specializes in pregnancy fitness and was recently voted one of the 50 Hottest Trainers in Shape magazine, but she says that doesn't stop people from making rude comments to her at the gym.

"What bothers me most about people commenting on pregnant women in the gym is that perhaps more than anyone there, we need our workout. We are growing a human, which means we need to maintain a healthy vessel," she said. "We need to keep our muscles alive and moving so that we have a sound unit to bounce back to after we have our babies. We just want to get a workout in like everyone else, which means we want to put on our headphones and workout in peace."

Haley is not the first expecting mom to cause controversy for staying active; "Cross Fit Mom" LeaAnn Ellison was criticized last year for lighting weights while 8-months pregnant. She gave birth to a healthy baby boy.

Haley also has a three-year old son, she performed routine work outs during her first pregnancy. She is expecting to deliver baby number two in May.
