Posted: Updated:
Fishers, IN- Four Good Samaritans were honored after they sprang into action to help save the life of a 12-year-old boy.

Kristin Eiteljorge, Dr. Jason Hollingsworth,Tom Fettinger and Dama Fettinger are being recognized for their selfless actions.

The four unexpectedly turned into heroes when 12-year-old Joel Tsetse's heart stopped during a Fishers Junior High basketball game.

"I saw him drop and I knew he was in trouble," Tom Fettinger said.

Joel's father explained how hard it was for him to see his son in distress.

"It was tough. There was nothing I could do," Joel’s father said.

One of the Good Samaritans said that for a moment they even thought the situation was worse than expected.

"Things weren't looking too good for him for a minute," Dama Fettinger

"Immediately I thought that he had a seizure," Dr. Jason Hollingsworth said.

"You just do what you gotta do. There's no pulse so you start CPR," Kristin Eiteljorge said.

That's when Fishers Police Sergeant Troy Fettinger ran to his car and grabbed an AED.

One shock, and Joel's heart was beating again.

"Major relief, major relief. And a lot of appreciation for the work that was done by the team,” his father explained.

"Everybody was there for a reason that day,” Sgt. Fettinger said.
