Woman Stops Alleged Bank Robber By Crashing Into The Getaway Vehicle

Posted: Updated:

Wellsville, Pa.-A Pennsylvania woman took matters into her own hands when she prevented a bank robbery suspect's getaway with her truck.

Tina Gleim from York County says she was inside a local bank when the incident occurred.

According to Gleim, she took off after the man when he fled the scene with the cash.

Gleim says she was able to put a stop to his plans when she rammed her pickup truck into his getaway car.

"I thought I would stop a bank robber from getting away," she said. "When I left the bank, the teller said, she was shaking and she said, I’m shaking, we were just robbed and there he goes, and we watched him run across the driveway on the other side of the road and my truck was right by the door and I thought, I’ll go follow him."

She says the opportunity just presented itself, so she stepped on the gas and ran into his vehicle, in hopes of disabling it.

Police say the alleged robber Alexis Laskowski,38, drove about a quarter-mile down the road before his vehicle was disabled from the crash.

He was arrested and charged in the robbery, along with four other bank robberies.
