Redland, CA- A California teen didn't think he could afford to go to prom, but thankfully, a Facebook campaign helped make his dream come true.
Albert Luna, 16, had his doubts that he would get to enjoy the big night with his friends because his parents are out of work and struggling.
However, Kimberly Mickey, his friend’s mother, took to Facebook to ask for help and the donations started rolling in, everything from the limo, to the dinner and even his tuxedo were given to him by Good Samaritans.
Prom 2014 is more than just a dance party for Luna, it is a life lesson in the kindness of others.
"Because I just couldn't see one kid not going. He wanted to go, so I figured I'd just try and help," Mickey said.
Albert Luna Sr., the boy’s father, is grateful for the generosity of the community.
"We didn't know that there was actually still people out there like this. And I am very happy and grateful for it," he said.
As for the boy, he says, he feels like a million bucks.
"I’m always going to remember this, and it is going to stay in my memory," said Albert Luna Jr.
