Tractor Trailer Smashes Into Popular Fast Food Chain

Posted: Updated:
A Jack In The Box drive-thru turns into a big mess on Wednesday when a big rig collides with a car then crashes into the fast food chain.

It's not your typical drive-thru now.

"Complete demolish is what it looks like to me,” says truck driver, Darren Nunes.

Darren Nunes is shocked to hear no one was killed when a big rig collided with a sedan, and then smashed into a Jack In The Box.

Nunes continues, “I cannot believe someone got out of there with only a broken arm."

Both drivers were taken to the hospital for minor to moderate injuries.

Officers say only employees were in the jack in the box at the time of the crash but they were in the back kitchen and were not injured.

"We did get word that 5 minutes prior after this collision there was some patrons inside - fortunately those patrons made it out in time,” says Ceres Police Officer, Jason Coley.

The crash slowed the morning commute at the Hatch and Mitchell road intersection

Dede White said one of her employees at the KFC next door was late for work this morning because of the delays.

White recalls, “so much traffic I had one of my workers trying to open up the store and she was like "I'm late I'm late it's the traffic and then once she rode by she was like 'oh my god it's a diesel!!!!! It almost hit our store!!"

She is grateful it didn't.

White continues, "If this would have gone through our building, I wouldn't know what to do!!"
