4-Year-Old Boy Falls From Third-Floor Window

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

A four-year-old boy is recovering after falling from a third-floor window.

Police say the 4-year-old child was playing in his bedroom with his 12-year-old brother when he fell through the screen of the window, FOX 29's Jenni Joyce reported Friday morning from outside Children's Hospital in Philadelphia.

This happened on the 1100 block of Bainbridge Street. Investigators tell us a Good Samaritan saw the boy fall and called 9-1-1.

Police are investigating the case. It appears to be an accident.

At this time it seems as though the child has escaped serious injuries. He's at CHOP right now recovering with mainly bumps and bruises.

Police are talking to family members and witnesses but, again, it appears to have been an accident.

Now that we have ventured into the warmer months, it's a reminder if you have your windows open to make sure they're secure and that the screen is properly installed. It can't hurt to take additional child-proofing measures to ensure safety.
