Behind-the-scenes in a military training operation

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - Former U.S. Navy SEALs, Marines, and Army veterans are among the military men and women who continue their work on a different level once their days on the battlefield are over.

That can range from protecting executives of major corporations, the training of law enforcement personnel and even teaching children leadership skills.

Fox 5 News reporter Lisa Evers went behind-the-scenes of a training exercise with a group out of Deer Park, Long Island.

Using air soft guns, Lisa was given a taste of elite military training at the Strikeforce Sports Facility. The group recreates missions similar to what they've seen in combat.

"Everything centers around the gun," said one of the soldiers.

"The barrel never points at a living creature unless you’re ready to take that creature out," said another.

During one particular mission, the soldiers - including Lisa- move shoulder to shoulder.

"Someone standing in between should be able to fire," said one of the soldiers.
