Delaware Prison Guard Charged In Smuggling Plot

DOVER, Del. -

A Delaware prison guard faces felony charges, accused of working with an inmate to smuggle marijuana and cell phones into the state's maximum-security prison.

Darryl West, 27, has been charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession with intent to deliver prison contraband and conspiracy.

Investigators say an inmate offered West $800 to smuggle the marijuana and phones into the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in Smyrna.

Authorities say a search of West's vehicle turned up pot, two recently purchased cell phones and cash.
