There was a strong show of support Saturday from civil rights leaders for a 14-year old from the Bronx.
The teen claims he was tossed through a window by police.
Javier Payne appeared at the National Action Network in Harlem Saturday to bring more awareness to his case.
He says an NYPD officer arrested him for allegedly assaulting a 39-year-old man in the Bronx, and then pushed him through the front window of a store after words were exchanged last Saturday.
Payne’s mother says doctors removed pieces of glass from his lungs, chest and heart.
The Reverend Al Sharpton says the arresting officer should not be in the NYPD.
The NYPD says the accused officer has been suspended.
