Viral Video Attacker in Custody

Posted: Updated:
Salem, New Jersey -

Latia Harris turned herself in to police custody last night around 7:00 pm. Harris allegedly severely beat-up Catherine Ferreria, she was seen punching her over 20 times in a video that has since gone viral, while the victim’s child watched and screamed in protest.

The area in which the attack took place is a very popular walking path located in Salem, New Jersey. Salem resident Robert Tuthill explained what he thinks happens.

“But this is where I thought it actually happened, this area right here. I’ve known people that keep things bottled up inside, and when it comes out, it’s a disaster,” Tuthill said.

This story has gained a lot of attention. Vince Seals, another Salem resident, said that his uncle was murdered in the same area, and no press ever came to cover it. He explained that this situation is different because this assault was caught on tape.

“I guess that’s what people bug out about - the video,” Seals said.

After the attack, Ferreria allegedly ran up the path, all the way to the guard shack at the gated community where she lived, and got help.

Some residents of West New York, New Jersey are happy with their beautiful views of Manhattan, but aren’t too happy about the noise that is coming over from the city. Residents who live at the Hudson Club apartment complex at Port Imperial say that the music that reportedly comes from a new concert hall at Pier 97 across the Hudson River in New York City is affecting their quality of life.
