Possible Threat To Fourth Of July Weekend - My9 New Jersey

Possible Threat To Fourth Of July Weekend

Posted: Updated:
Seaside Heights, New Jersey (My9NJ) -

The Fourth of July is right around the corner, but the holiday may see the potential threat of Tropical Storm Arthur. The storm could bring heavy rain to the area and a lot of wind.

It seems like the Jersey Shore just can’t catch a break. First, Superstorm Sandy left almost nothing in its wake, and last summer on the border of Seaside Heights and Seaside Park, dozens of restaurants were hit hard by a massive fire. One of those restaurants, Saw Mill, lost hundreds of thousands of dollars in that fire, and only reopened in the last three weeks. Ron Rinaldi, the Saw Mill restaurant manager, is very optimistic about July 4th weekend, and is busy trying to get everything ready in time.

“We opened up three weeks ago and are hoping for a good summer. Last I heard the storm was going to veer off to the Northeast, and we are just getting the side effects, so we are planning a big weekend,” Rinaldi said.

The Saw Mill restaurant has put in new lights, and has opened up a new boardwalk area for the restaurant customers to enjoy. Hopefully, the weather holds out for this weekend!

Some residents of West New York, New Jersey are happy with their beautiful views of Manhattan, but aren’t too happy about the noise that is coming over from the city. Residents who live at the Hudson Club apartment complex at Port Imperial say that the music that reportedly comes from a new concert hall at Pier 97 across the Hudson River in New York City is affecting their quality of life.
