Posted: Updated:
NORTH PHILADELPHIA-Philadelphia Police say a 2-year-old boy was hit by a car in Kensington around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.

According to police, the child was struck along the 1800 block of East Monmouth Street.

The child's sister identifies him as Jazair Turner. Officers say Turner ran into the street just as the driver of a Chrysler Town & Country minivan was coming.

Authorities are still working on the details of how it happened, but say the driver did stop at the scene. Family on the scene told FOX 29 that the boy was dragged by the vehicle for a short distance.

The boy was taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital and is in stable condition.

He is expected to be in the hospital for a few days.
