City of Detroit has aggressive plan for overgrown grass

DETROIT (WJBK) - On Detroit's east side, residents are concerned about the tall grass.

In some neighborhoods children have to walk in the street because the growing grass is a growing problem.

In some sections of the city, the grass is as high as five feet.  One section of the city, at Packard and Stockton has some parents worried believing it is an accident waiting to happen.

For the first time in four years the city of Detroit has announced an aggressive plan to mow the grass.
