Winter storm watch for NYC-area

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for areas north and west of New York City, where 4 to 7 inches of heavy, wet snow is expected. An icy mix will develop closer to the city while NYC and Long Island see periods of heavy rain. Today brings sunshine before conditions deteriorate Tuesday, with travel impacts likely.
