Ongoing fallout: Bigamy scandal in the U.S. Army

The bigamy scandal in the U.S. Army is ongoing and recently released new information from the Army.

While on active duty in South Korea, Sgt. Scott Fuller married a Korean woman while still married to an American woman in the U.S. with whom he has two kids.

The lawyers for Rachel Lee based in Fort Lee NJ are in touch with the U.S. Army and are pursuing the possibility of having him court-martialed for bigamy and forgery.

The U.S. Army cooperated with the Korean government and had him involuntarily returned to Korea to face justice.

A Korean trial court sentenced him to 8 months in prison but reduced his sentence to a $10,000 fine.

Now, any further actions taken in Scott Fuller's case would be subject to the Status Of Forces Agreement between the U.S. and South Korea.

This is not the first bigamy scandal that's rocked the Army.

Chasing News exclusively spoke to Kris Johnson, whose husband, Col. James H. Johnson, was convicted of fraud, bigamy, and conduct unbecoming an officer and a gentleman.

He got a reprimand and a $300,000 fine.

“This is a recognized problem that service members kind of get away with misconduct,” Kris Johnson said.

She now fighting to get legislation passed that spouses get separated from military personal so if they are prosecuted for a crime the family doesn’t pay the price.
