Surviving Anna Wintour

Anna Wintour is the queen of the  fashion industry. She's spent 27 years as the editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine, the bible of high fashion, style, and beauty. She was named the artistic director of Conde Nast two years ago.

20th Century Fox made a movie that some say was about her life starring Meryl Streep called "The Devil Wears Prada."

Anna Wintour is so successful, famous and influential, that often any gesture, word, or even look she gives is analyzed and scrutinized. The world's best designers, models and fashion industry leaders care what she thinks.

Many young women in the fashion world aspire to work for her. We spoke to Amy Odell, the editor of Cosmopolitan.com. She wrote the book "Tales from the Back Row" about the fashion industry and in it she talks about her job interview with Anna Wintour.

"I always admired Anna Wintour. I followed her growing up. I'm from Texas, I read about her, and I was really obsessed with her," Odell said.

Amy didn't get the job. Was it what she wore?

"I don't think it was my outfit. It was pretty good. I wore Michael Kors and jewelry, felt good about my outfit. My mistake was probably that I couldn't think of any museum shows."

We got an exclusive interview with Anna Wintour at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The costume center there is named after her and they've been having record-breaking success.

Anna Wintour was making a rare public appearance on Wednesday to interact with the public and sign exhibition catalogs.
