2 dead in Newark police-involved shooting

NEW JERSEY (FOX 5 NY) - Two people were killed during a shooting near a school in Newark early Friday morning, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.
The shooting took place at about 6:30 a.m. on North 7th Street and Abington Avenue, outside the Abington Avenue Elementary school.
No Newark police officers were injured.
One person is in custody.
An investigation is underway.
