AG Paxton urged to launch full investigation into Karolyis

Gymnasts who say they were molested by former USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar at the famed Karolyi Ranch are scheduled to speak at a press conference where they are calling on Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton to launch a full investigation into the Karolyis.

Right now the Texas Rangers are fully investigating allegations of what happened at the Karolyi Ranch. That order was given by Governor Greg Abbott back in January. But many of the gymnasts who say they were sexually abused by Nassar are saying it's not enough.

Many of those who trained at the Karolyi Ranch want AG Paxton to not just conduct a full investigation but also press charges against coaches Bela Karolyi and his wife Martha.

Nassar's victims say Martha knew in 2015 that Nassar had been accused of molesting young girls at their training center but never reported it to authorities and never stopped it.

In January, Nassar was sentenced to up to 175 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexual assault. Nearly 200 gymnasts testified in the courtroom confronting Nassar before his sentencing.

Other survivors who were abused by Nassar at Michigan State are also expected to speak. The press conference is expected to being at 10:30 a.m. at the AG's office.
