Distraught father tries to attack Nassar in court

A distraught father who said his three daughters survived Larry Nassar's sexual abused lunged at the convicted sex offender and former doctor in court Friday.

Two of Randall Margraves' daughters gave their victim impact statements Friday morning around 9 a.m. His third daughter spoke in the Ingham County sentencing last week.

After his daughters spoke Friday, Margraves asked the judge if he could say something to Nassar. When the judge allowed him to speak, he called him a 'son of a b***'. The judge reprimanded him for swearing in a courtroom.

In response, Margraves asked for part of Nassar's sentencing be five minutes in a room "with this demon".

When he asked the judge if she would allow that, she said no. He then asked for one minute and she again said no.

That's when he lunged at Nassar.

Before he could get to the former doctor, he was subdued by court officers and taken away in handcuffs.

The judge called for recess. Testimony has resumed and you can watch on our Facebook page.

The incident came during the third and final sentencing hearing for Nassar on sexual abuse charges. The charges in this case focus on his work with Twistars, an elite Michigan gymnastics club.

More than 30 victims have given statements so far. During a similar hearing that ended last week, more than 150 girls and women came forward to say Nassar abused them under the guise of medical treatment.

More victims are expected to speak. The proceedings are likely to extend into next week.
