Firemen help veteran mow lawn during call

Two Alabama firefighters went above and beyond the call of duty to help an elderly military veteran on Saturday.

When Birmingham, Alabama's Rescue Unit 25 responded to a call, they found a 30-year military veteran suffering from chest pains.

He told the men that he was mowing his lawn when he started experiencing the pain.

While the veteran was being transported for treatment at a local hospital, the crew came back to his home to finish the chores that he started.

Firefighter and paramedic Tommy Carter and firefighter Timothy Kennedy made sure that the lawn looked spotless for the veteran when he came home.
