GA deputy finds scaly 'suspect' a new home

A deputy has found a new home for an unwelcome guest found creeping through a Whitfield County neighborhood.

On April 3, the Whitfield County Sheriff's Office got a call about a 7-foot boa constrictor in someone's yard along Cedar Ridge Road. The sheriff's office said the homeowners who reported the snake were worried it was searching for food and "hunting" for their Chihuahua.

One of the responding deputies, Deputy Cory Spence, had prior experience in handling snakes and reptiles, and immediately took the slithering suspect into "custody."

Deputy Spence turned the boa constrictor over to Sgt. Kory Bain who then found the snake a new home at a refuge in Chatsworth.
