Georgetown linebacker with spine injury walks across stage at graduation, first time in over 2 years

In an inspiring moment, Georgetown University linebacker Ty Williams walked at graduation for the first time in two and a half years, since suffering a severe spinal cord injury in 2015.

The Georgetown student walked across the stage to receive his diploma with a congratulatory embrace from University President John DeGioia.

The student from Montgomery County played football while at Quince Orchard High School, but was seriously injured after he broke his neck during the first football game of the 2015 season while playing for the Hoyas.

He has since been in and out of medical facilities and rehab and has worked his way to move across the stage to receive his degree. Williams is graduating from Georgetown with a degree in Government.

Georgetown called it "a moment we will never forget."
