Huge fire burns homes in Newark

NEWARK (FOX5NY) - A huge fire burned through three homes in Newark, New Jersey, Tuesday morning.

The fire broke out on South 9th Street near 15th Avenue.

Flames could be seen coming through the roofs and thick black smoke poured into the sky. Firefighters doused nearby buildings in an effort to keep the fire from spreading even more.

The fire quickly went to two alarms.

No residents were hurt but one firefighter was treated at a hospital for an undisclosed injury.
