HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Houston Texas star J.J. Watt received an honorary degree on Tuesday from the Baylor College of Medicine.
He was presented with the Doctor of Humanities in Medicine degree for his flood relief efforts after Hurricane Harvey.
The degree is given to those who provide exceptional support or service to the school or community.
JJ Watt raised more than $37 million to help with recovery after Harvey. Watt partnered with non-profits to provide assistance in rebuilding homes, child care centers and after school programs, food distribution and medical services. He has already been named the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year and Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year, alongside Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve.
