NYPD investigating bias incident at NYC restaurant

NEW YORK (AP) — The NYPD is investigating an assault on a woman dinning at a restaurant as a bias incident.

Police say the woman was having dinner with her mother on Saturday when two women and a man sitting behind them started yelling obscenities and anti-gay slurs.

The suspects then allegedly threw the woman to the ground and dragged her by the legs before fleeing.

The victim suffered cuts and bruises to her knees and was treated at a hospital.

Police say neither woman knew the attackers.

The NYPD's hate crime task force is investigating.

It happened in an outdoor cafe of the Barkogi restaurant in midtown Manhattan.
