Officials: Coded 'kill letter' threatens Fulton County Jail employee
FULTON COUNTY, Ga. - It’s not that unusual for a prison inmate to make a threat, but what one inmate did while in the Fulton County Jail rattled the staff.
Janorris Spears, also known as “Weazy,” wrote a so-called “kill letter” using coded language.
Authorities saw the name of a female sheriff’s staffer as well as an address in the letter. The communication was turned over to a specialist who decoded the letter and found specific threatening language.
That sheriff’s staffer was given protection.
The inmate, who has violence in his past, was transferred back to a state prison.
Also, officials said changes have been made in mailroom that restricts the kind of communication that every inmate will be able to do in the future.
