Cedar Point's FrontierTown in Sandusky, Ohio says it's breaking a long list of records with its new "hyper-hybrid" roller coaster, the tallest fastest and longest in the world.

The "Steel Vengeance" roller coaster combines a steel running track on a massive wooden structure, which allows it to perform twists and drives that haven't previously been done as a wooden roller coaster, the park says.

Creators say the coaster is smooth and comfortable and breaks the record for being the tallest hybrid roller coaster at more than 200 feet, the fastest at 74 miles an hour, and with the steepest drop.

It's also the world's longest at more than a mile long, among other records.

The Steel Vengeance features a first-of-its-kind "Twisted Snake Dive," where the coaster enters a half-barrel roll, hangs upside-down for a brief moment and turns back, not completing a full roll.

The ride lasts just about two-and-a-half minutes.

The term "hyper-hyubrid" means it's constructed of a smooth steel track on a wood support structure, but also reaches a height over more than 200 feet.

Steel Vengeance opens up to the public the weekend of May 5-6.
