Downed utility pole, live wires shuts down Route 3 in Secaucus
NEW JERSEY - A downed utility pole with live wires has shut down Route 3 in Secaucus in both directions, the New Jersey Department of Transportation said on Twitter.
It happened this morning on the highway, just west of the New Jersey Turnpike Eastern Spur.
Traffic is backed up in both directions.
Chopper was above the scene, which shows what looks to be a salt truck, with the bed of the truck hitting the overhead live electric lines.
Drivers are being advised to follow posted detours or plan an alternate route.
