VIDEO: Dads play hardball at softball tournament

WARNING: Viewer discretion is advised-- There is both graphic content and language.

A viral video shows two South Jersey dads fighting outside a girls’ softball tournament in Maryland last week. A bystander captured the entire bloody brawl on video.

In this video, which contains both graphic content and language, you hear two men, Michael Barbella, 48, and Michael J. Duffy, 45, arguing about Barbella’s daughter no longer being on the travel softball team, the South Jersey Maniacs.

The daughters of both dads are former teammates on a traveling softball team.

According to the Wicomico County (Maryland) Sheriff's Office, the argument started earlier that day through text messaging. Barbella texted Duffy challenging him to a fight, then Barbella drove to Maryland to confront Duffy and other members of the team.

About a minute into the video, Duffy tells Barbella the reason she's not on the team anymore is “because of you,” to which Barbella responds, "She's not on the team anymore because I don't want her to be."

Then the verbal altercation turns physical once Duffy says, “You’re not going away until someone punches you in the mouth.”

The video ends with Barbella on the ground and bleeding significantly from the face. When the police arrived, he was being treated by EMS workers.

Both men were arrested for this fist-fight and are charged with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct, the sheriff's office said.

Barbella was held in lieu of $20,000 bail, while Duffy was released with an appearance ticket.
