VIDEO: Teenage brawl leaves high school athlete with concussion and head injury

A teenage brawl in front of dozens left an athlete badly injured.

A boy in a black and white football jersey pounded away at a smaller kid, knocking him to the ground to a crowd's apparent amusement on Bouquet Canyon Road Friday night.

It was all caught on cell phone camera.

The Santa Clarita Valley Signal reports the smaller boy suffered a concussion and head injury.
They say was transported from this In N Out parking lot to a hospital around 9:30.

Now many are wondering why people watching didn't step in.

"The new age of technology and everything, it's a little much," said high schooler Olivia Salmon.

Hart Union High School District saying Tuesday night:

"We are aware of the incident that happened off campus. Anytime we see students engage in an altercation it is a concern as student and staff safety is our no 1 priority. We are taking appropriate actions internally in an effort to keep these types of incidents from happening."

As for the student who threw the punches, sources confirm he is a baseball player who was injured too. He broke a finger.

We're not releasing the kids names because they're minors.

It's unclear if either of the two kids have or will be returning to Saugus High School.
